Cedar Creek Elementary ![]() MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL JESSICA BROWN September 28, 2017
Dear Cedar Creek Family,
It's hard to believe September is almost over. Our exciting Cedar Creek tradition will continue tomorrow —International Day! As I mentioned during assembly this morning, Cedar Creek proudly displays flags from all over the world in our cafeteria. These flags are representative of current and previous Cedar Creek students. This year, Ana Gilligan has graciously offered to serve as chairperson for this wonderful event. We encourage children to wear traditional cultural attire celebrating their heritage or places they would like to visit. Immediately after assembly, students will enjoy various cultural performances. Throughout the day, during FIT time, students will have the opportunity to taste foods from around the world provided by classroom volunteers. As a reminder, please be sure that any foods brought to share are nut-free and have the teacher name and recipe attached to the dish. I look forward to celebrating International Day with our Cedar Creek community.
Our librarian, Shannon Foley, writes, "Our K-2 author visit this morning with Ryan Higgins was a huge success. Students loved seeing the author and illustrator draw pictures based on their suggestions. Check out the library's Instagram (@cce_library) for pictures and videos. If you would still like to purchase autographed copies of the books, they will be available through next week. See the attached order form for details."
Looking ahead, Wednesday, October 4, 2017 is Walk to School Wednesday.
Have a great week!
Warm regards, Jessica Brown
