Dear Cedar Creek Family,

It is with great pride that I write this first official Eagle Express Newsletter of the 2017-18 school year!  Each Thursday, teachers will send out a parent newsletter or email and I will write an Eagle Express Newsletter.  In addition to this weekly parent communication, feel free to join our CCE Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.  Also, the most up-to-date information can be found on our Cedar Creek website.

Principal Jessica Brown
On Monday, our fantastic teachers and staff welcomed 508 Eagles to Cedar Creek.  Included in this count are 73 new Cedar Creek families.  We would like to welcome these new neighbors to our Cedar Creek community.  Please feel free to ask any staff member for assistance while getting acclimated to Cedar Creek.

We are thrilled to have our building bustling again with your children! Here at CCE, we are busy establishing procedures and setting expectations for our school community. We value the partnership between the parents and your school in reinforcing the procedures and expectations.  Setting expectations early in the year allows your students to get the most out of the time we have together. Thank you for providing us with your students who are ready to learn each day.

As you settle into your routines, please help us with a few additional safety reminders:

  • 7:15 a.m. is the earliest drop off time.  There is no adult supervision before that time.
  • If you choose to use the front drop off lane, for safety reasons, please do not pass on the left.  Please wait until the vehicle in front of you pulls forward.  The front drop off lane opens for car traffic after 7:35 a.m. the buses have arrived at CCE.
  • You are more than welcome to join your child for lunch.  However, please check in at the front office to obtain a badge first.  Due to space, we ask that students join their lunch guests at the back tables in the cafeteria.
  • All transportation changes need to be made through the front office before 1:30 p.m. Please email your child's teacher AND Aimee Babbs in the front office at
  • Please do not bring your dogs to pick up or drop off.  We are trying to expeditiously welcome your children to school and get them safely on their way home at the end of the day.  We love pets, but they can be a huge distraction to our young children.

As a reminder, tomorrow, Friday, August 25, 2017 we will be hosting a New Parent Orientation from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m.  Members of the CCE Booster Club and the Eanes Education Foundation (EEF) will be available to answer questions.  Please join me in the Commons for an overview of the various activities at CCE.

Additionally, Back to School Mornings begin next week.  This is your chance to learn about the individual grade-level classroom experiences. All presentations will be in the classrooms, with the exception of fifth grade, which will occur in the Commons.  Remember this event is for parents only. Please see the schedule below:

Sounds like it is going to be a great weekend to stay indoors and rest!

Warm regards,

Jessica Brown

Approval will lower District's total tax rate by 3.25 cents and increase amount of local tax revenue that stays in the community

We are excited to officially kick off the program this year, which will streamline services including transportation and cafeteria meal transactions as well as coordinate campus dismissal preferences electronically with parents of elementary students.
