MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL JESSICA BROWN

Dear Cedar Creek Family,

Next week is National Volunteer Week, celebrated across the country to honor volunteers for their contributions and recognize the impact of their time and energy given all year long. Please look for the poster outside the butterfly garden signed by all of our students. We would love for you to join us at next Thursday morning's assembly where we will show a special video to celebrate our Cedar Creek volunteers!

On Wednesday, April 18th at 8:30 AM we welcome all incoming kindergarten students and their parents to our Kindergarten Round-Up. Students will visit a kindergarten classroom, our cafeteria and have an opportunity to ride the school bus. Parents and students should all meet in the Commons at 8:30 AM for this exciting event. Please encourage any new Eagles in the neighborhood to come to our Kindergarten Round-Up.

Please refer to our CCE website for information regarding student information verification (SIV). Beginning Wednesday, April 18 at 1:00 PM, you may begin verifying student information online at www.eanesisd.net/siv . This student information verification process is required for all students in EISD. Also, if you know you will not be returning to our Cedar Creek Elementary family next year, please notify Linda Hopkins at lhopkins@eanesisd.net. As a district, it is very helpful for us to have accurate student numbers for staffing purposes.

Although we still have 30 important school days left in the year, we are also planning for the 2018-19 school year. As you consider volunteer opportunities, please contemplate being part of our Campus Leadership Team (CLT). Our CLT meets one Wednesday a month at 3:00 PM. This important group is comprised of teachers, parents and a district representative. Members of this team discuss "big picture" topics that pertain to CCE. Next month, we will be drafting our new Campus Improvement Plan. If you would like to be a part of our CLT committee next year, please email me at jbrown2@eanesisd.net.

Looking ahead, Tuesday, April 24, 2018 is an early release day and Monday, April 30, 2018 there is no school.

SCHOOL NEWS

Photographers of Westlake will be back on campus on Monday, April 16th for Spring Portrait Make-ups/Retakes. Please contact edye@photographersofwestlake.com if you need your child's Spring Portrait re-taken and let them know what you did not like about your child's portraits. The photographers will contact you if your child had a Sitting Reservation but was absent on Spring Portrait Day.

Campus Dismissal Manager Reminders

Thank you to all that have registered for the Campus Dismissal Manager (CDM).

If you have not registered, please do so at https://parent.smart-tag.net

Just a few reminders regarding the CDM:

1. Please use the CDM to notify the school of all absences, late arrivals and any transportation changes.

2.The cut off time to make transportation changes is 1:30PM for parents. If there is an emergency after this time, please contact the front office.

We appreciate your patience and participation during this registration and implementation process. We are all learning this together.

Spring Portrait Make-Up/Retake Day

Kindergarten Round-up, April 18

For children who will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2018 and are starting Kindergarten in fall of 2018. Parents and children are invited to visit their new school, meet the principal and staff, and become familiar with the campus. Activities vary per campus; visit the campus' website for more information.

Where: Valley View Elementary
Registration due by Tuesday, May 15, 2018

The program is designed to support students who need additional help mastering grade level objectives in reading and math. Instruction will be based on individual student profiles provided by the student’s current classroom teacher.
