Cedar Creek Elementary

MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL JESSICA BROWN

Dear Cedar Creek Family,

It has been a terrific end to our second week at Cedar Creek! Earlier today we had our fourth grade Back to School morning. In addition, kindergarten, second grade and third grade have all hosted their respective Back to School parent events. Tomorrow, Friday, September 1, 2017, fifth grade Back to School morning will take place in the Commons at 7:30 AM. Please remember our first grade Back to School event was rescheduled to Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 7:30 AM. Thank you for coming to Cedar Creek to learn more about your child's specific classroom environment. We appreciate the collaborative partnership between home and school.

Next Wednesday, September 6, 2017, I encourage your entire family to take part in one of my favorite Cedar Creek community traditions – Walk to School Wednesday. Weather permitting, the first Wednesday of every month is designated Walk to School Wednesday at Cedar Creek. Put on your tennis shoes and walk with neighbors to our beautiful school. Coach Davis will have the music playing outside to help create a festive atmosphere for all. Although we encourage the children to "dance" their way into the gym, please remind them to continue to exhibit Rockin' Eagle behavior. This uniquely Cedar Creek tradition is treasured by students, parents and staff.

As many of you know, we have a terrific Booster Club here at Cedar Creek. This year, Mrs. Jennifer LaRue has graciously volunteered to serve as president. The first Booster Club meeting will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 8:00 AM. During this Booster Club meeting, CCE counselor - Mrs. Angela Kennedy, will be conducting a volunteer training for all people who will be volunteering at Cedar Creek Elementary School. Additionally, our CCE Dads' Club will be hosting a Cedar Creek Social for all parents on Thursday, September 21, 2017. Please see below for additional information on these events.

Looking ahead to next week, Monday, September 4, 2017 is our first school holiday. Enjoy the long weekend with your children!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Donate Books

The library is collecting books to donate to Hurricane Harvey effected families. A Bridge Point parent, Carl Lauryssen, is working with the librarians in our school district to gather books for families in need. Please bring any gently used books for all ages to the collection bins in the library or outside the front office.
