Thank you to all the generous Cedar Creek families who participated in BookSpring's annual read-a-thon. We were able to raise over $12,000, which translates to more than 4,000 brand new books in the hands of children right here in Austin. Of course the students were excited about the competition to see who could read the most. Our top readers this year were 5th grader Grace Shannon (2,900 minutes) and 3rd grader Zoe Miller-Payne (5,456 pages.) 2nd grader Hudson Parks was our top fundraiser, bringing in $530. The winning classroom was Ms. Cowan's class with the highest participation (52%).
We are so thankful to Catherine Heinrich, an 11th grade WHS and former CCE student, who has created a new wildflower garden by the annex. This garden has a special purpose, which is to provide a habitat for a monarch garden! Please see more detailed information below! We thank Catherine for giving back to CCE!
