MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL
Dear Cedar Creek Families,
It is hard to believe that we are finishing up our 8th week of school! I have enjoyed getting into classrooms and seeing students engaged in learning! Third grade students recently created Cardboard games, and parents came to see students sharing these creations with peers….students in Specials are creating unique art pieces and working with sportsmanship in PE…and I feel a sense of community when I walk around the cafeteria in the mornings greeting students, parents and staff!
We are excited to welcome Brittany Dunham, our new Kindergarten teacher, to CCE! Mrs. Dunham has recently relocated from California to Texas and comes to us with 5 years of teaching experience in Kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade. She attended Temple University College of Education, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. She has been trained in Reader's and Writer's Workshop, Responsive Classrooms, and Growth Mindset and is excited to join her class tomorrow! Please help me in giving a warm welcome to Mrs. Dunham!
Conferences are coming up! Parent conference sign-up began this past Tuesday, and in an effort to give families a little more control over selecting a time to accommodate schedules, we will be using Skyward's Conference Scheduler. Through Family Access, parents will be able to choose a conference slot during the conference days, October 24-26. Please sign up for one time slot per child. The deadline to schedule or switch conference dates will be October 19th by 4 PM. After that time, if an emergency arises, please contact the teacher directly.

Thank you again for your donations to both Booster Club and EEF! October kicks off EEF (Eanes Education Foundation) fundraising month! We thank our CCE Dads who entertained us at last Friday's school-wide assembly. EEF funds a total of approximately 50 staff positions in Eanes ISD each year. This year CCE has 3.5 positions funded by EEF (Jo Davis, PE Teacher, Sherry Bulluck, School Nurse, Ian Smith, counselor, and Cecilia Gunn, ESL and Intervention Teacher). If it weren't for EEF, we would have to cut these 3.5 very valuable staff positions. We appreciate all of our parents for not only donations, but the many hours you donate to make CCE THE BEST SCHOOL!!
It has been another successful week at CCE! We are excited to see everyone tomorrow morning for Friday Assembly at 7:40AM! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions, concerns or want to celebrate a bright spot on our campus!

In September, the Board heard reports on several topics including an update on summer bond projects, potential bond discussions, an update on the District's goal on Special Education and more. You will notice there are numerous opportunities for discussion and involvement; please participate as you are able.
Eanes ISD is beginning discussions on items for a potential 2019 bond. We invite the community to join in on October 16 & 23 as we discuss Energy Efficiency & Conservation. Click the title to see other upcoming project discussions.
