MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL

Dear Cedar Creek Families,

Thank you to all parents who have come in for parent-teacher conferences! Our hope is to have 100% participation, so if you have not signed up for a conference, please contact your child's teacher.

We hope to see everyone at the Booster Club Fall Family Fun Fest on Saturday at CCE starting at 4PM. The movie, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation will start at 7PM. What a fun, family-school event it will be!

Bluebonnet award nominated author Hena Khan visited with 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders today about her writing process and her focus on building compassion and tolerance across cultures. Autographed copies of her books are still available for purchase in the library. Please email Ms. Foley (sfoley@eanesisd.net) with any questions.

Substitute Teachers – we are always looking for substitute teachers! If this is something you are interested in, please contact the Eanes ISD Human Resources Department or check out the following link https://www.eanesisd.net/dept/hr/subs.

Halloween "Spirit Day" – we encourage everyone to wear orange and black, or wear things to celebrate Halloween (No costumes, no masks, no make-up on faces, no toys or props)

Monday, November 12

Veteran's Day Assembly @ 8:00AM

The library turns into the book fair for the week of October 29-November 2. Parents and grandparents are welcome to eat lunch with their children and then come shopping during recess. The fair will also be open after school Monday-Thursday until 3:30PM. Students are invited to test drive their Halloween costumes during Family Night on Tuesday, October 30 from 4-7PM All proceeds directly benefit our library.

Nurse Bulluck will be conducting Hearing and Vision Screenings on October 29th for all 1st., 3rd. and 5th. grade students, as well as new students in 2nd. and 4th. Kindergarten students will be screened the following day on October 30th. If your child wears glasses, please remind them to bring the day of the screening.

Thank you again for your donations to both Booster Club and EEF! We thank EEF who funds a total of approximately 50 staff positions in Eanes ISD each year, 3.5 positions at CCE. We appreciate all of our parents for not only donations, but the many hours you donate to make CCE THE BEST SCHOOL!!

It has been another successful week at CCE! We are excited to see everyone tomorrow morning for Friday Assembly at 7:40AM! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions, concerns or want to celebrate a bright spot on our campus!

Veterans Day

Cedar Creek will celebrate Veterans Day on Monday, November 12th in the cafeteria, with a reception to follow in the Commons.

We have three special opportunities to honor CCE's military family and friends:

Video Tribute Casting Call

Please invite local veterans to participate in a special video for the Veterans Day Program. On Thursday October 25th from 8:30-11:30 and/or Tuesday October 30th from 11-2. They can visit Cedar Creek to share, on camera, what Veterans Day means to them. All recruits should report to the front office during those hours, sign in and ask for Tara Johnson (tmkleinert@gmail.com) If neither of these times work please contact me and we can arrange a time.

Veterans Wall

Every year we create a wall of Veterans' photos to display on the butterfly garden windows. If you contributed a picture in previous years, we'll post it! If you would like to submit a new picture, here's how:

1) Please print a hard copy* (preferably 8 x 10) with the following information on the back:

* Name of Military Personnel

* Branch of Military

* Years Served

* Name of Related Student/s

* Other Pertinent Details (e.g. Served in Vietnam or Active Duty)

2) Deliver photos to the front office. You'll find a Veterans Day folder to the right of the sign-in station.

The deadline to submit pictures is November 7th

*Please do not send originals. Pictures will be laminated for future use and are non-returnable.
