Educational Impact

Those who display leadership and commitment to the district by making a positive, noticeable and significant impact.

Ms. Lisa Cook, 4th-Grade Math Teacher
Ms. Cook has been an extraordinary unit leader for our fourth-grade team in our first year of incorporating Spanish Immersion. She has worked tirelessly to help align math and science for both the Spanish Immersion and English programs, and this has included coaching teachers who are new to EISD or new to teaching math and science. Through sharing her resources and knowledge, she's raised the bar among her colleagues and created a streamlined collaboration that leaves a legacy.  We truly appreciate Ms. Cook!

Ms. Rachel Gilmore, 1st-Grade Teacher
Ms. Gilmore is an exceptional teacher and creates a positive learning environment for each of her students. She faces challenges with a smile and a positive attitude. She is friendly to her colleagues and treats people with respect. Ms. Gilmore creates a dynamic space where learners examine new perspectives, take creative risks, and activate empathy while making the world a better place. The families of CCE love her and she works hard to build those relationships. Ms. Gilmore's students love to see her year after year of being in her class.

Ms. Irene Hidalgo, 3rd-Grade Spanish Immersion Teacher
Ms. Hidalgo has been an integral part of getting the Spanish Immersion program up and running successfully at CCE. As it moves into 5th-grade next year, she’s been a leading voice to ensure student and teacher success. Ms. Hidalgo brings years of experience with her as she helps to navigate Eanes through our expanding Spanish Immersion program.  We are so lucky to have Ms. Hidalgo as part of the Cedar Creek family.

Ms. Ashley Riley, Educational Partner
Ms. Riley has made an immediate impact in her first year as Educational Partner at Cedar Creek. She has done a fantastic job of guiding teachers in best practices and in reviewing data to guide instructional choices. Ms. Riley has helped to lead our school out of blended learning and has done it by listening to teachers on the best way to help them succeed. Cedar Creek is very fortunate to have Ms. Riley to help teachers and students.

Ms. Sharon Suh, Special Education Teacher
Ms. Suh is a compassionate and hardworking educator. She is an effective teacher that excels at her craft. Ms. Suh is a special education teacher who is skillful and dedicated to meeting the needs of her students in various grade levels with differing academic needs. She believes that all her students can learn and grow academically. Her students feel successful and eager to learn. You could see her students’ attitudes about school change after their first week with her. Her students are excited to work with her and they quickly make academic growth with her instruction and care. Ms. Suh’s classroom is a safe and nurturing climate where everything experienced is an opportunity for growth.

Heroes

Those who perform an outstanding achievement that brings prestige to Eanes ISD, or do something that goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Cedar Creek Dads Club, Parents
The Cedar Creek Dads Club goes above and beyond to help the Cedar Creek community. They help with morning drop off every Friday and on cold and/or rainy days. They help with campus clean-up to keep our school looking beautiful. They host social gatherings to encourage building relationships among parents and the community. Their passion to help make CCE great is admirable - they are amazing and a huge help to our school community!

Innovation

Those who implement a creative or innovative program, teaching method, cost-savings, etc.

Ms. Avery Thurman, 4th-Grade Teacher
Ms. Thurman has made an impressionable impact at Cedar Creek. She is a dedicated individual who is driven, passionate, and continuously goes above and beyond for our school. Ms. Thurman led and organized a wonderful Go Texan Day filled with music and fun! This is one of the many examples of how she shows her ongoing devotion and initiative at Cedar Creek. We are proud to work alongside Ms. Thurman, as she exudes all of the wonderful qualities it takes to be an educator. Our school would not be the same, or as "Texas proud" without her!
